The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in providing therapy to children and adolescents with a diagnosis of mental illness and/or developmental disabilities and/or pervasive developmental disabilities and/or behavioral disorders in the school setting.
Responsibilities
- Implement approaches of CBT, play therapy, trauma-focused, and motivational interviewing in psychotherapy with children in Early Childhood classrooms through 2nd grade
- Support teachers and staff with behaviors in the classroom
- Conduct initial biopsychosocial assessment
- Develop treatment plans
- Maintain clinical records and adhere to timelines
- Coordinate/collaborate with parents, teachers, school administrators, intermediate school staff and administrators
- Able to make referrals for additional services as needed
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Social Work or Counseling
- Valid professional license
- Professional verbal/written skills
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs
- Strong skills in crisis management and the ability to handle challenging situations effectively
